Inventory Sharing and Split-Warehouse Thinking for Multi-Platform Sellers

Same goods on five platforms, but five separate inventories? A shared view + reasonable split can halve the warehouse space you need.

Same goods on Amazon, a standalone site, TikTok Shop, but a separate inventory for each platform — that's the typical waste of multi-platform sellers.

First build a shared inventory view

Point each platform's on-sale to the same physical inventory pool. Sell one, all platforms decrement together. The core is real-time system booking, not manual spreadsheets.

Then talk split-warehouse

  • Fast-turnover hot items: put in warehouses close to mainstream last-mile, protect speed
  • Long-tail slow goods: concentrate in one place, lower rent
  • Regional platforms: near-warehouse by main buyer location, lower last-mile

Watch the oversell red line

The shared pool must have "real-time sellable feedback," or one oversell flips all platforms.

Multi-platform isn't multiple inventories, but one pool, many sales channels.

Manage inventory as a shared resource — less warehouse space, and good shipping experience on each platform.
